July 10, 2019 – The Blue Cross NC Foundation has approved its 1,000th grant – a milestone marking 19 years of commitment to improving the health and well-being of North Carolinians.
Foundation Welcomes Newest Grantees
June 20, 2019 – We are pleased to share that we have recently approved three grants. Please join us in welcoming the following organizations:
One year investment of $34,000 to Mountain Community Health Partnership to support the development of a safety-net dental clinic in Mitchell County, enabling the organization to leverage the necessary resources, expertise, and consulting support required to secure equipment and infrastructure funding.
One year investment of $183,000 to UNC‐Wilmington’s Center for Healthy Communities to support their role as a regional public health training agency to engage a technical assistance provider and support health departments to assume a leadership role in the local implementation of Medicaid transformation. This grant is co‐funded in partnership with Kate B. Reynolds Charitable Trust.
One year investment of $200,000 to NC Counts Coalition to support engagement with trusted messengers in hard to count areas to encourage and support full count activities in the 2020 Census.

February 27, 2019 – John R. Lumpkin, MD, MPH has been named president of the Blue Cross and Blue Shield of North Carolina Foundation. Lumpkin most recently served as Senior Vice President, Programs for the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation (RWJF). He will start April 22, 2019.
