“From the Ground Up” tells the story of healthy changes taking root right here in North Carolina. At the community, school, volunteer and family levels, changes are improving the way people eat, the way people care for themselves and for others, and the way people prepare for what lies ahead for North Carolina.

In Moore County, an outdoor classroom teaches children the benefits of healthy eating and physical fitness. Nurses provide support and encouragement to first-time mothers and their babies in eastern North Carolina. And at ten sites across the state, a mobile dental X-ray unit rolls into town to provide much-needed dental care.
