At our core, the BCBSNC Foundation embraces an outcomes approach to grantmaking. We proactively look to partner with, and invest in, organizations, programs and services that will impact the health and well-being of North Carolinians. We believe this approach will lead to measurable results and have a positive effect on communities across the state.

Our vision remains constant: improving the lives of North Carolinians. That is an ambitious goal, and we know that no single entity can do it alone. Achieving success requires a combination of statewide, regional and community efforts led by state and local leaders.

Blue Cross and Blue Shield of North Carolina established the BCBSNC Foundation in November 2000 to ensure that we would always have the resources available to contribute to improving the health and well-being of North Carolinians. With more than 395 programs and initiatives funded, including more than $58 million in grants, we see the benefits of our investments at work every day.

We hear inspiring stories, see amazing results, and hope for permanent change. And, we will continue to look for innovative and effective programs and services that will help individuals, one life at a time.
