Project:

Create an effective strategy to increase understanding and visibility of community health centers among potential patient populations.

Impact:

In June 2009, BCBSNC Foundation entered into a 1-year, $50,000 capacity building grant to support Piedmont Health Services’ development a marketing plan to improve its outreach to the insured population. PHS provides healthcare services to individuals in 14 counties in North Carolina.

The grant supported a partnership with PHS and R+M Agency to develop a strategic approach to branding at the Siler City location initially, to increase PHS’s revenue opportunities with private insurers in order to ultimately serve a greater uninsured population.

BCBSNC Foundation previously funded PHS in 2006 for its Program for All-Inclusive Care of the Elderly (PACE) program. The feasibility study was conducted in Alamance and Caswell County to establish a market to serve 150 frail, financially needy elderly.
