Photo Guidelines
Most grantees like to document their project through photography to provide a visual component to their reports, Web site and brochures. For some projects, like building a community garden, a series of photos documenting your progress is appropriate. For others, photos of your participants at an event may show your project in action.
Whether you use a freelance photographer or chose to take pictures yourself, it is important that the photos are taken and saved in a format that is appropriate for publication on a Web site or in print. Please adhere to the following specifications when taking pictures for your report to BCBSNC Foundation:
- Secure the appropriate Adult or Minor “Talent” Release from everyone prior to taking their picture. You can also download a Spanish translated version depending on your audience.
- Take photos on your camera’s highest resolution setting. High resolution in the original image allows for larger and clearer reproductions.
- Submit the photos as JPEG files at no less than 300 pixels per inch on a CD labeled with the date, your organization name and the grant project title.
- Try to capture action shots or candid shots that show what happens in your project or setting.
