Grants
Our primary objective is to invest in clearly-defined, innovative grants that further our mission of improving the health and well-being of North Carolinians. We embrace an outcomes approach to grantmaking, and are committed to proactively supporting organizations and programs capable of attaining measurable results.
Grantmaking is centered on three primary focus areas, which, through specifically defined goals and results sought, are designed to maximize impact on communities across the state.
- Health of Vulnerable Populations: Improving health outcomes of vulnerable populations served by safety net organizations in North Carolina
- Healthy Active Communities: Increasing physical activity and encouraging healthy eating habits for North Carolinians
- Community Impact through Nonprofit Excellence: Strengthening the organizational capacity of the nonprofit organizations in North Carolina
The BCBSNC Foundation has a new two-step process for our responsive grant cycles, which applies to the Health of Vulnerable Populations and Healthy Active Communities focus areas. Check out what the process is and how your organization can apply.
The Community Impact through Nonprofit Excellence focus area is unique in that it is comprised of three Foundation Signature Programs, and does not currently include a competitive grant process.
For more specific grants information and opportunities, please refer and familiarize yourself with each individual focus area.
New Responsive Grant Cycle Process
We have initiated a new responsive grant cycle process for 2010. Check out how the process works and what you need to be eligible for funding. The Fall preliminary proposal deadline is July 15, 2010 so don't miss out!
