Preliminary Project Proposal

The Preliminary Project Proposal is closed for 2010. Please check back in 2011 for new grant cycle deadlines related to our Healthy Active Communities and Health of Vulnerable Populations focus areas.

Preliminary Project Proposal

Submission of a Preliminary Project Proposal is the first required step for any organization seeking to apply for a grant from the BCBSNC Foundation.

The Proposal is the same for both the Health of Vulnerable Populations and the Healthy Active Communities focus areas, including for equipment-only requests.

After review of the Preliminary Project Proposal, you will be notified via email whether or not your organization has been invited to submit a full grant application. Please note that we are unable to accept grant applications that have not gone through the Preliminary Project Proposal process. However, equipment-only requests are an exception and will not be asked to complete the second step.

The Preliminary Project Proposal is closed for 2010. No further submissions will be accepted.

Required Attachments

Please make sure ONE copy of each of the following items is attached. The preliminary project proposal will not be reviewed without these items.

  1. Current List of Board of Directors and/or Principal Officers
  2. Project Budget Template (Excel document)

Helpful Hints for Completing the Proposal Template

  • Use the TAB key or mouse to move through the document.
  • Check boxes can be done electronically by placing your mouse in the box and left-clicking on it. A screen will come up that will give you the option to "check the box." Use this feature as the most convenient way to check the boxes in the template.
  • Spell check and word-count features will not function in this document. When completing this proposal, it may be helpful to write the narrative responses in a Word document, perform spell check and word/character count before cutting and pasting the response into the appropriate space in the proposal.
