Health of Vulnerable Populations:
- Alliance Medical Ministry: Increasing access to health care for uninsured, working adults in Wake County through a Saturday clinic.
- Diabetes Bus: Taking certified diabetes management on the road.
- Dental Safety Net Initiative: Project supports enhanced clinic productivity and financial viability for ten community dental practices that treat underserved North Carolinians.
Healthy Active Communities:
- Buncombe County Council on Aging: Incorporating fresh local fruits and vegetables into meal plans and start an exercise program serving low-income seniors in Buncombe County.
- Moore County Communities in Schools: Creating a fitness trail and community garden in the town of Aberdeen.
Community Impact through Nonprofit Excellence:
- Community in Crisis: Teaching communities how to respond to disasters within the first 72 hours, using church networks in Wayne, Craven, Johnston, Duplin and Sampson counties.
- Greene County Health Care, Inc.: 2007 Community TIES award recipient in evaluation.
- Mecklenburg Ministries: Healthy Community Institute participant.
