Healthy Active Communities:

Increasing physical activity and access to healthy, local food for North Carolinians.

Currently, one in three children in North Carolina are overweight or at risk of becoming overweight and for our adult population, that rate increases to two out of every three. To address this critical issue, Healthy Active Communities aims to create a North Carolina where all people have access to safe, inviting places to play and be active, as well as access to healthy, local food.
