COVID-19 Response Grantees (2021)
In early 2021, we committed an additional $5 million in COVID-19 response to provide emergency relief focused on food and continued support for grantees as they increase their focus on equity and develop stronger organizational resilience.
The 38 grantees resulting from this funding include:
Appalachian Sustainable Agriculture Project (ASAP)
Increase distribution of locally grown food through ASAP’s Appalachian Farms Feeding Families program which pairs rural food relief sites and child care centers with local farms to meet emergency food needs in 23 Western North Carolina counties and supports local growers. $500,000

Meet the emergency food needs of families in Southeast Raleigh by providing weekly deliveries of healthy, locally grown food to the most at-risk households. $50,000
