--Please Note: This funding opportunity is for invited applicants--
Blue Cross NC Foundation is launching a new initiative centered on identifying use cases for the development of, and access to, useful and applicable data tools and cultivating community capacity to utilize the data in ways that better position communities to advance policy and systems change. Building on the lessons, data tools, and successful approaches from our Community-Centered Health partnerships, this work will inform and support building the capacity in other communities (in particular communities of color) to use data to direct and enhance collective action for improving health.
The Foundation’s Community-Centered Health partners have been effective at using data to advance policy and systems change within their local communities. They are successfully using data as an organizing tool to engage community residents and advocate with local policy structures to enact change. Our Community-Centered Health grantees have demonstrated that putting data in hands of community members helps ground truth and add dimension to data that may not appear in publicly available data sets and systems. This new initiative provides an opportunity to learn from, share, and spread those powerful lessons to other communities seeking to advance race and health equity in their local communities.
The Foundation is making available three-year, $50,000/year ($150,000 total per organization) grants to support up to four Community-Centered Health partners for their engagement in the development/co-design of this initiative and its implementation.
Current Community-Centered Health grantees (from cohort 1 and cohort 2) are eligible to apply.
