Senior Program Officer for Healthy Communities and Director
of Operational Excellence Added
Durham, N.C. - The Blue Cross and Blue Shield of North Carolina Foundation is excited to welcome Shelia Reich as its newest team member, joining the organization as Senior Program Officer, Healthy Communities. In addition, Operations Manager Teresita Maz has been named the Foundation's Director of Operational Excellence.
Shelia understands that the amplification of community voice and leadership is central to achieving health equity for all North Carolinians. In her role as Senior Program Officer, she will focus on increasing capacity for multi-sector partnerships to commit to equity, share power, and advocate for change at the community level as they work to identify, and act on, the root causes of poor health and health disparities.
Shelia's experience reflects a diverse range of roles, having spent the past 20+ years working directly with, and for, communities and marginalized populations. She most recently served as the Executive Director of Youth Thrive, a Wake County cross-sector collaborative.
Teresita initially joined the Foundation in 2018 as Operations Manager. In the newly created role of Director of Operational Excellence, she will work with the team to foster a culture of continuous improvement and exceptional experience for grantees and partners. Teresita will continue to oversee the organization's financial operations, while also spearheading efforts to optimize processes, equitable practices, and structures to aid strategy execution and long-term organizational excellence.
