The Blue Cross NC Foundation is pleased to share the following grants were approved in the month of November.
- One-year investment of $40,000 to Child Care Resources, Inc. to conduct two surveys licensed of child care providers statewide to understand their needs and viability in the wake of COVID-19.
- Three-year investment of $206,000 to Cooperative Extension at North Carolina Agricultural & Technical State University to strengthen the statewide community garden network in North Carolina and contribute to the development of a more diverse and inclusive network of food system advocates.
- Three-year investment of $300,000 to the Charlotte affiliate of the National Black Child Development Institute to develop and advance programmatic and policy-based approaches to address the rising rates of suspensions and expulsions in early childhood education that disproportionately affect Black children in North Carolina.
- 38-month investment of $3,000,000 to North Carolina Partnership for Children to build the staff and system capacity needed to embed community-centered systems change and advocacy strategies in the leadership development and executive support for local Smart Start agencies statewide.
