Brian Edmonds
Communications Officer
As Communications Officer, Brian supports all aspects of Foundation-related communications, working across program and operational areas to advance the organization’s bodies of work and elevate the stories of its grantees.
Prior to joining the Foundation, Brian worked as part of Blue Cross NC's public relations team as an Associate Communication Specialist where he was responsible for coordinating communications for numerous community investment campaigns, compiling and reporting success metrics, and managing Blue Cross NC’s media center and newsroom.
Brian received his BA in Communications with a concentration in Public Relations from Mississippi State University.
What I love about my work:
Positively impacting the lives of fellow North Carolinians, especially our under-resourced populations, is an opportunity in which I really take great pride. I’m fortunate to work with a great team of like-minded individuals who are passionate and committed to improving the health and well-being of everyone in our state.
When not at my desk:
I’m an active musician who loves multiple music genres; and I’ve been fortunate enough to play behind Grammy and Stellar award-winning artists. When I’m not at a rehearsal, gig, or doing studio work, I’m usually at home enjoying time with my wife and son.
Favorite thing about North Carolina:
I love the beautiful, diverse geography of the state and the friendly people. I think it’s great to have the modern amenities of city living combined with that good Southern hospitality.
